Tread Part 2

A continuation of Tread aimed at encouraging non-runners to the building.
Tread Part 2

Looking at my work completed for Tread, I wanted to focus more on the non-runners in the city so see how I could encourage them and encourage them to run in the city centre.  Encouragement to be more active has never been more prominent, with ever-growing obesity levels and less people seeking to be active, Tread aims to celebrate and encourage health and well-being in order to reduce these levels to help people to become more active and I aim to explore the idea of bringing health and wellbeing to the city.

Four pods in different areas of the city centre, all designed to celebrate and encourage running as a sport in the city centre. Each pod holds a different discipline but all aiming to encourage running as a whole and to bring more runners to the central building which exists as a nucleas for runners. The pods aim to create a journey around the city and after visiting all four pods, visitors should become inspired and encouraged to sign up for runs at the main building.

Due to the ever-rising obesity levels and low exercise rates in Manchester, people need to be encouraged to run and to exercise and the city needs to celebrate running. Tread makes running less of a chore by providing a group running aspect where people can meet new people and also engage in physical activity. There needs to be more focus on exercise in the city centre, and with running being one of the only sports that is free to do, there are more reasons why it should be encouraged.
