Designer Statement
BA Hons Interior Design student graduating in July 2015. I believe an interior should generate an experience for the visitor. An interior should be designed for the people using the space taking into account their needs. Looking to be in an environment where I am able to gain more knowledge and expertise for opportunities for personal and professional growth. As a key design interest in my free time, I enjoy visiting new buildings and exhibitions, practicing my drawing and computer skills, especially experimenting on different computer programs in order to further enrich my knowledge. My interest in materials and details have been developed in my final major project and remain a key interest within design projects.
Professional experience
March 2015 -
I held a tutorial for the year below in University, aiding them in their ongoing projects and being a tutor for the day.
Student Project with The National Football Museum - April - May 2014
Four week long collaborative group project, working alongside graphic design students in a professional environment, we proposed and designing spaces for the National Football Museum linking with celebrating Brazil and the World Cup in 2014. Presenting to live clients helped me to further develop my presentation skills.
Student Project with Hilton House, The Pond residency - March - May 2013
Collaboration with other students to design, make and build an installation for a live client thinking about thresholds and interfaces. After setting up for the show, our location kept the exhibition up to showcase our work to the public for a longer time.
Student Project with 2022NQ - March 2013
A collaborative project to propose a space to collaborate and work, ensuring we met the design requirements stated. This project allowed me to get a better understanding of costs and locally sourced products and to further improve group working skills.
River Island - Sales Advisor - October 2013 - PRESENT
I currently work on the shop floor providing excellent customer service, aiming to drive sales. I also have experience in visual merchandising in store.
